Preventative measures are the single most important way to safeguard your pet's health. We recommend the following:

Puppies and Kittens

New Adult Dog and Cat Vaccine Protocols

While we have long recognized the importance of vaccination in preventing many common infectious diseases, we also understand that vaccines are not entirely without potential undesirable side effects and reactions. With the optimum interval between vaccinations being previously unknown, most vaccines were administered on an annual basis according to the manufacturers’ recommendation.

Recently, updated recommendations for vaccination were issued by the American Animal Hospital Associations (AAHA) Canine Vaccine Task Force and the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). These groups were comprised of the top experts in the fields of veterinary medicine, infectious diseases and immunology. Their reports are available online at www.Anaheim.org. We also have copies available for viewing at our front desk.

In our continuing effort to provide your four legged family friends with the best possible health care, we have decided to adopt these new vaccine schedules. Based on your pet’s age, lifestyle, health history, and risk factors for exposure to infectious diseases, your veterinarian will discuss with you and custom tailor the vaccines that will be administered.

A summary of our updated vaccine recommendations is found below. If you have any questions regarding these vaccination changes or any other aspect of your pet’s health care, please let us know!
